Gluten Free Flower and Garden Festival 2018

Living in Orlando I get the amazing opportunity to go to Disney fairly regularly.  As a celiac I can thoroughly appreciate how amazing Disney is with this!  Normally the phrase I have a “gluten allergy” or “I’m celiac” is like saying “bomb” and everyone loses their mind.   They simply take it in stride, are incredibly prepared and take it very seriously.  Everyone needs to take a cue from them!

Northern Bloom

Seared Scallops with French Green Beans, Butter Potatoes, Brown Butter Vinaigrette and Apple-wood Smoked Bacon

This is my absolute favorite dish of the entire festival.  The vinegarette balances so well with the potatoes and the bacon, just pure heaven!  10/10 easily!

Cider House

Freshly Baked Lemon Scone with Crème Fraîche and Mixed Berries

This Lemon Scone doesn’t taste like its gluten free AT ALL! The jam is a nice addition but the Crème Fraîche is meh and really doesn’t add much to the dish but the rest is good enough that I am more than ok with it!  8/10

So lets discuss this entire booth here.  Its incredibly gluten free friendly with CIDER FLIGHTS?!?! Ummm yes please!

Primavera Kitchen

Frittata di Asparagi: Asparagus Frittata, Mixed Greens and Citrus Dressing

This dish was just meh, it was an egg frittata.  The flavors weren’t out of this world, it was kinda blah and boring, I don’t know what but it was really missing something.  Not bad but just not anything special.  5/10

Panna Cotta al Melone: Cantaloupe Panna Cotta

This dish is very flavorful with melon, “melony” was the phrase I would use, AKA if you don’t like melons this isn’t the dish for you! You also have to like the texture, not quite pudding, not quite jello… 7/10

Teriyaki Salmon with Furikake Seasoned Brown Rice

This Teriyaki sauce was a little sweet for my taste but the salmon is cooked perfectly, flakey and falls apart.  This is a dish that is genuinely done very well.  9/10

Fleur de Lys

Macaron au Chocolat en Sucette: Large Chocolate Macaron Lollipop

This was a very visually pretty desert and a very standard macaron.  There isn’t a whole lot to say about it 8/10 (Cause I just love macarons even if they are super basic)

Flower and Garden this year has some great stands and lots of really wonderful food options and a few options for Gluten Free that over all are pretty decent.  I just wish there were more than a handful of options!

Overall Disney is still one of the best places for food allergies and I
