Ok so we all admire the gorgeous skin of Korean Women and want that flawless look but who has the time for all of those steps? The idea of the complicated multistep routine can seem super expensive and daunting but I’m here to help you craft a simple, effective and elegant routine. There is no need for a full 10 steps to keep your skin looking amazing. I’m going to show you my simple Korean skincare routine with fewer steps and amazing results.
Oil Cleanser
All Skin care routines no matter what school of thought you subscribe to needs to start with a double cleanse. This means a great oil cleanser. Yes even if you have oily skin and no it won’t make you break out more, hear me out on this one! The idea of an oil cleanser grabs all of the oil, grime and makeup off your skin. Oil attracts oil and can deep clean those pores in a crazy way. I spend a good amount of time gently massaging my skin and I am able to pull so much gunk out of my pores. Adding this simple step is such a game changer for avoiding breakouts and getting smaller looking pores. Rinse and I have two brands that I really love, both are super budget friendly and do an amazing job deep cleaning.
Foaming Cleanser
After using all of that oil on your skin you absolutely have to wash it off (see I told you trust me about the oil). Using a great and gentle foaming cleanser pulls all the left over grime from the oil and still from makeup and the dirt of the day. Even in a simple Korean skincare routine this is really key. Cleansing properly cannot be skimped on ever. Now the key is finding a great cleanser thats not stripping or drying to the skin, this can lead to issues long term with your moisture barrier and we really don’t want that! So these are a few that cleanse, don’t strip and leave your face feeling amazing. At the end of the day its not worth spending a lot if its just going to get washed off anyways!

Toner
The next strict step I follow is toner because at the end of the day your skin is still dirty. Even with all of that cleansing you will STILL find all kinds of dirt on that cotton pad. I like to take it a step further and get a toner with actives so I’m not just cleansing. The key to keeping your routine simple is finding products that have multiple purposes and toners are an easy way to sneak that in. Do me one favor, if you choose another brand of toner please don’t pick witch hazel or anything else resembling jet fuel. These products literally strip your moisture barrier and damage your skin, these all are counter productive to your dream skin.
Actives
I personally like to add in actives like retinoids at night or vitamin c during the day, they are not part of the Korean skin care world but they really do make a difference so I’m adding that in. So most retinoids are only available by prescription however one brand is available over the counter and for under $15. I have to say in under a month my skin is firmer, more even and just nicer. That sounds crazy but it really is the miracle in a tube that the world claims it to be. This active is also AMAZING and life and skin changing for severe acne.

Eye Cream
There are so many mixed opinions on eye creams out there but I’m a big believer in them. Personally I find that my under eye creases and wrinkles when I am not consistently using one. Not all are made alike but I will say that you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a luxurious cream that can also help with dark circles. This step is the big difference from looking tired and older to looking fresh and awake.
Moisturizer
As silly as stating a drugstore moisturizer is my holy grail is truly is. Making this a simple Korean skincare routine was partially due to how power packed this moisturizer is. The amount of serums I am able to remove because the ingredients are all in here and all at levels that actually work help streamline my routine. Hyaluronic acid, Vitamin E and Niacinamide work to plump and even skin tone and I was applying them all separately as serums.
Sunscreen
I can’t stress the importance of wearing sunscreen every single day! Any sunscreen in a foundation or moisturizer is a bonus but isn’t enough for sure protection, you need at least 35 spf on its own.Obviously I mean to apply this in the mornings, but this should be done every single day. Not only is the sun the single most aging thing for your skin, I would genuinely hate for anyone to get skin cancer. Sunscreen has come a really long way from the slimy, nasty pour clogging mess it used to be and there are now so many amazing options that are matte and undetectable.
I hope this helps you to create the glass glowing skin of your dreams! This has been my go to routine for a few months now and its GLOWING!
