Sunblock is by far the easiest way to avoid aging and protect your skin. The issue however becomes finding one that doesn’t have that horrible white cast or a greasy finish while still providing excellent protection. I’ve put my 3 top sunscreens up for review at varying price points. I must say, the SPF in your daily moisturizer, foundation or even them combined is not enough on its own. You absolutely need a product specifically designed as an SPF product.
Lets start with the most expensive and honestly the best of all. It’s part sunblock, part makeup primer or even tinted moisturizer (I often wear it alone when I want to keep it simple). The Reflections SPF 40 with an SPF of 40 and skin enhancing ingredients like Vitamin C and Vitamin E, it’s a product that does triple duty and I love anything that has multiple purposes. The finish makes my skin glowy, soft and look airbrushed all while giving it sun protection and improving the condition of your skin. I reached out and got a code for all my readers to get 10% off this awesome sunscreen/tinted moisturizer/ primer combo. Use the code “Slipper10” to receive the discount at puarcosmetics.com (or if you are in the greater Orlando area you can head to their gorgeous physical location).
Now if you have to ball on a budget with something you can locally find the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer is really the easiest option. It dries down quickly but it still has that sunblock feel and smell. It has a great range of SPF from 45 all the way up to 100 (honestly that high is unnecessary). Between 45 and 55 is great year round to keep your skin protected. This is the best generic sunscreen that isn’t that super shiny drugstore sunscreen. I like that its an easy to get option that means there is never an excuse to not wear sunblock.
Last but not least is my K-beauty find. The Biore UV AQUA Rich Watery Essence Water Base contains an SPF of 50 and is also a skin care sunblock combo. The downside is that sensitive skin will not like the alcohol in this product. I also personally got a white cast from it if I wore it alone. Now the upside of this is it does contain skincare. The royal jelly and Hyaluronic Acid are a really nice touch to keep your skin moisturized and fresh and it is waterproof.
Overall I think this is one place where the splurge is absolutely worth it, especially for a 3 in one product. None of these by any stretch are a bad product but I personally am going to be using the Reflections SPF 40 from here on out. I cant get over the texture of this product and how beautiful it makes my skin without the need for foundation. The 3 in one is so great and easy for my busy lifestyle creating the perfect finish that this is going to be my go to from here on out!
